Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has warned his players against complacency as the club edges closer to the Ghana Premier League title.
The tactician stressed that his side must remain fully focused for their final two matches of the season following Sunday’s important 1-0 victory over Basake Holy Stars FC.
The win kept Medeama at the top of the league standings and strengthened their hopes of lifting the title at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
Despite the strong position, Tanko insists the race is far from over and believes his players must approach the remaining fixtures with complete seriousness.
“We still have some games to play, so we need to concentrate on the next one. We have to be very careful and go all the way to be sure we win the league. So definitely we are going to take the rest of the games seriously,” Tanko told Medi TV.
Medeama’s next challenge will come against Heart of Lions FC at the TnA Stadium on Sunday, May 17. A victory in that encounter would officially secure the Ghana Premier League title for the Tarkwa-based side.
After maintaining consistency throughout the season, Medeama are now within touching distance of another league triumph.
The club will now look to maintain composure and finish the campaign strongly as pressure continues to rise in the closing stages of the title race.
