Swedish-Ghanaian defender Raymond Adjei produced a match-winning moment as his precise assist helped Ãsters IF edge Sandvikens IF 1â0 in Superettan.
Shortly after the break, Adjei surged forward from the back and picked out Samuel Burakovsky, who finished in the 46th minute for the only goal of the game.
Ãster’s backline, with Adjei starting at right-back, then saw out a tight contest in Växjö, limiting Sandvikens to few clear chances despite the visitors registering more attempts on target. The clean sheet underlined the team’s growing defensive solidity, with Adjei influential both in and out of possession before being substituted in the 71st minute.
The assist was Adjei’s first in the 2026 Superettan season and continues a solid start to the campaign, taking him to seven league appearances with one assist so far. His performance against Sandvikens showed his ability to impact games in the final third while remaining defensively reliable.
The win lifts Ãsters IF’s momentum ahead of their next Superettan fixture away to Ljungskile on Sunday, May 17, where Adjei will again look to play a key role in their promotion push.
