Deputy Finance Minister and Chairman of the World Cup Fundraising Committee, Thomas Nyarko Ampem, has disclosed that the committee has received substantial financial support from corporate institutions as preparations intensify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking during donation presentations on Wednesday, May 14, 2026, Ampem confirmed that several companies have contributed millions of Ghana cedis to support the Black Stars' campaign ahead of the tournament.
Leading the donations was Ghana Gas, which presented GHC5 million to the committee. Ecobank Ghana followed with a contribution of GHC3 million, while ABSA Ghana donated GHC1 million. Zijin Golden Ridge Limited also made a contribution of GHC1.13 million towards the national team's World Cup preparations.
OmniBSIC Bank made a symbolic presentation of GHC250,000 to support the fundraising drive.
The donations form part of ongoing efforts by the World Cup Fundraising Committee to mobilise resources for the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana secured qualification to the tournament after a strong qualifying campaign and is expected to continue preparations in the coming days as the country eyes another impressive showing on football's biggest stage.
