The Black Queens B team has invited 24 players for a two-day screening exercise aimed at identifying potential additions to Ghana’s senior women’s national team.
The invited group consists of 22 players from the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League and two foreign-based players as the technical team continues efforts to strengthen the national setup with emerging talent.
The screening programme will be supervised by Black Queens B team head coach Yusuf Basigi, with senior Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren also expected to attend as part of the assessment process.
The exercise is scheduled to take place on May 30 and 31, 2026, with players expected to report to camp at the Erata Hotel at 10:00am on May 30.
The programme forms part of ongoing talent identification and player assessment plans as Ghana continue preparations for upcoming competitions, including the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The initiative is expected to provide local players with an opportunity to impress the national team technical handlers and potentially earn places within the senior Black Queens setup.
The Ghana Football Association has in recent years increased efforts to strengthen women’s football development and create clearer pathways from the domestic league into the national teams.
