Ghana international Baba Abdul Rahman has expressed his disappointment over the Black Stars’ stalemate against Wales in a friendly.
The West African football powerhouse played out a 1-1 draw against Wales in a pre-World Cup friendly match, held at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The first half of the match ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net in a highly competitive clash.
After recess, the Black Stars broke the deadlock through FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi in the 66th minute. However, Ghana were denied victory after Lewis Koumas headed home a stoppage-time equaliser for Wales.
After the match, the PAOK defender, who made substitute appearance in the game has taken to social media to express his displeasure at draw against Wales, while promising an improved performance in subsequent games.
“Gutted we could not get the win last night, but this is a marathon not a sprint. We will get there. This group will give everything for this precious shirt. God bless our homeland Ghana,” he posted on social media.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars team jetted off to the USA on Wednesday morning to continue preparations for the World Cup.
Ghana now turn attention to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States. The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia, and open their campaign against Panama on June 17.
