Black Stars defender Baba Rahman has called for patience and belief ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting Ghana's preparations should be viewed as a long journey rather than judged on a single result.
The experienced left-back shared an encouraging message on social media following Ghana's 1-1 draw against Wales in Cardiff.
Ghana appeared on course for victory after Caleb Yirenkyi's second-half goal, only for Wales to equalise in stoppage time through Lewis Koumas.
While disappointed not to secure the win, Baba urged supporters to focus on the bigger picture as the Black Stars continue to build towards the tournament in North America.
"Gutted we could not get the win last night, but this is a marathon, not a sprint. We will get there," he wrote.
The former Chelsea defender's comments reflect the mood within the Ghana camp as the team continues adapting to life under Queiroz, who only took charge in April.
The draw against Wales was also far from a full reflection of Ghana's preparations, with the Portuguese coach revealing before the game that the entire squad had trained together for the first time only on the eve of the match due to players arriving late from club commitments.
Baba also praised the commitment being shown by the players as they prepare for the World Cup.
"This group will give everything for this precious shirt. God bless our homeland, Ghana," he added.
The 31-year-old is one of the senior figures in a squad that contains several players preparing for their first World Cup appearance.
Ghana will begin their Group L campaign against Panama on June 17 before facing England and Croatia.
