New Black Stars right-back Marvin Senaya has shared his excitement after making Ghana's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Auxerre defender, who decided to choose Ghana ahead of Togo, his father's country, made his debut in an international friendly against Austria in March.
Senaya impressed coach Carlos Queiroz during the team's camp in Wales, earning him a place in the final squad.
The 25-year-old was one of Ghana's best performers in the friendly against Wales on Tuesday, June 2nd.
After the game, Senaya posted on social media: "Wearing the colours of Ghana at the World Cup is a tremendous honour. Behind this jersey, there is so much more than football. There is a history, roots, a culture, and an entire people that I am proud to represent. One Nation. One People. One Star."
The France-born defender looks to have secured his place as the first-choice right-back ahead of the World Cup.
The Black Stars leave for the United States on Wednesday to continue preparations.
Ghana will begin their tournament with a game against Panama in Toronto on June 17 before facing England in Boston on June 23. The team will end the group phase with a game against Croatia.
