Barcelona are considering including Ghanaian defender Hafiz Gariba in their first-team pre-season plans, with a final decision yet to be made.
The 19-year-old centre-back has enjoyed an impressive campaign with Barcelona's Juvenil A side, establishing himself as a regular starter and continuing his rapid rise through the club's academy ranks.
Gariba joined Barcelona from the fourth tier of Catalan football and has quickly emerged as one of the club's most highly rated young defenders. His performances this season have earned him a promotion to Barça Atlètic ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
Reports indicate that Barcelona are pleased with the defender's development and are closely monitoring his progress as they assess options for first-team pre-season training.
The Ghanaian is highly regarded internally for his pace, strength, height, ability to win duels and composure in possession. Club officials view him as one of the most promising prospects in the academy system.
Gariba has two years remaining on his current contract with the club.
Off the pitch, the young defender has also enjoyed personal success. Having come from humble beginnings, he has been able to purchase a house in Accra for his family following his breakthrough at Barcelona.
A decision on his involvement with the first team during pre-season is expected in the coming weeks as preparations begin for the new season.
