Ghanaian youngster Leslie Okai has signed a new deal at Spanish outfit Valencia CF.
The 19-year-old inked a deal to keep him at the club until June 2028 after impressing at the reserve side last season.
"I'm very excited about this moment. This is another opportunity for me to do my best and enjoy it," said the 19-year-old.
Okai, who was born in Labadi but grew up in the United States, moved to Spain in 2024 to join Valencia's U19 side.
His performances earned him promotion to the reserve side, where injury kept him out for most of last season.
However, he returned to action in March, where he played a vital role in Valencia B's season.
"I've never been through a situation like this, but everything happened for a reason. I've been able to learn, grow, and also become who I want to be," he added.
"It wasn't an easy injury to recover from, but with integrity, dedication, discipline, and consistency I have been able to survive.
" I am grateful to the team. All the doctors have done a great job. From the beginning, taking each day step by step. With the process I've gone through from the start until now, I would say they are doing a great job here to make sure I'm well and healthy."
Okai is hoping to continue his development at the club as he eyes promotion to the first team next season.
"It's always been a dream to play for such an incredible club as this, without any hesitation or rushing. I see myself playing for the first team. Hopefully in the future, or at any time," he continued.
"I know what I can do, I just need opportunities. I need the right context . From there, I do what I'm passionate about and keep fighting for it."
