Black Queens forward Princess Dankwa Marfo made an immediate impact at her new club, scoring on her unofficial debut for PSV Vrouwen in a 2-1 pre-season friendly victory over Metalist Kharkiv on Sunday.
The 22-year-old, who joined the Dutch Eredivisie champions from FC Nordsjælland on a three-year deal last month, headed home PSV's second goal just five minutes into the second half.
PSV took the lead just before half-time when new signing Julia Hickelsberger delivered a pinpoint cross from the left for Fenna Kalma to head home.
The second half began in similar fashion. Janice Cayman provided the assist, and Marfo rose to head convincingly past the Kharkiv goalkeeper to double the lead in the 50th minute.
The visitors pulled one back almost immediately through a scrappy effort that crept over the line via the underside of the crossbar, but PSV held on comfortably for the win.
Marfo, who became the first female graduate of the Right to Dream Academy to turn professional when she joined Nordsjælland in 2022, described the move to PSV as an easy decision.
"I've followed Dutch football for years because many of my compatriots have played here," Marfo told PSV's official website upon signing.
"The playing style is attacking, especially PSV's. That fits my qualities very well," she added.
The victory marks a positive start to PSV's pre-season preparations under new head coach Kasper Kurland.
Marfo is expected to play a key role for the Eredivisie champions in the upcoming 2026/27 campaign, with the club targeting domestic and European success.
She becomes the latest Ghanaian player to make her mark in the Netherlands, following in the footsteps of several compatriots who have thrived in the Eredivisie.
