Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has assured supporters of Ipswich Town that he will give his best to the team during his time at the club.
The Black Stars winger signed a five-year deal with the English Premier League club on Tuesday, July 21.
“Ipswich Town is delighted to announce the signing of Abdul Fatawu from Leicester City. The winger has joined for an undisclosed fee, penning a five-year deal at Portman Road,” the club announced in a post on X.
Speaking in his first interview, Issahaku described the move as a proud one, adding that he is ready for the challenge ahead.
“I am proud to have signed for Ipswich Town. The ambition the club has is very exciting, and I’m looking forward to being a part of that as we prepare for the Premier League season. After speaking to the manager (Gary O’Neil), I know what the expectation is, and I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates and starting work,” the winger said as quoted on the Ipswich Town website.
He added, "I have played against Ipswich a few times during my time in England, and I know how passionate the supporters are for the club, so I'm excited to play for them and show them what I can do."
The 22-year-old has completed his move after enjoying an impressive 2025/26 campaign, during which he scored nine goals in 44 appearances for Leicester.
He also featured in all four of Ghana's matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, further enhancing his reputation on the international stage.
