Ghanaian winger Abdul Aziz Issah is back in Barcelona as he waits for the final approval of his move to FC Barcelona following two seasons on loan at the club.
The 20-year-old attacker travelled to the Catalan capital a few days ago and is currently awaiting clearance to begin training with his teammates ahead of the new campaign.
According to Spanish publication SPORT, Barcelona are expected to officially confirm Issah’s signing in the coming hours.
Issah initially joined Barcelona on loan from Dreams FC and spent the last two seasons with the club, where he developed with the reserve team.
After a quiet first campaign, the Ghanaian winger enjoyed a more influential role last season under Juliano Belletti.
The forward impressed during the final stages of the season, taking advantage of injuries affecting Barcelona’s wide options and contributing four goals.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta recently revealed that Issah would be involved in the “first-team environment”, despite uncertainty over whether the club would make his transfer permanent.
Issah’s representative, Ohad Cohen, also met with Barcelona officials at the Ciutat Esportiva on Friday to discuss the final details of the move.
The winger is now waiting for the official confirmation before joining either Hansi Flick’s first-team setup or the Barcelona reserve side for pre-season preparations.
