Jonas Adjetey: 'The World Cup boosted my personality'

Ghana defender Jonas Adjetey has described his maiden World Cup appearance as an "amazing" experience that taught him valuable lessons and elevated his profile on the global stage.

In an interview with Michael Oti Adjei, the Black Stars centre-back reflected on the impact of representing Ghana at football's biggest tournament.

"It was amazing because this was my first World Cup, and I learnt a lot of lessons from this, and it's a platform that boosts my personality to be a little bit known," Adjetey said.

The defender admitted he approached the tournament with extra determination, knowing the magnitude of the opportunity.

"I just put a little bit of hard work and stuff inside because I know this is a big platform that has given me the chance again to show what I have because football is a game."

Adjetey also offered a philosophical take on the nature of the sport, emphasising resilience.

"It's so funny that each time you make a mistake, you have another chance to rectify your mistakes."

The 22-year-old's World Cup debut has raised his profile, but his words suggest a player hungry to keep growing and cement his place in the Black Stars setup for years to come.
