GFA enters final phase of nationwide talent identification programme

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has entered the final phase of its nationwide Talent Identification Programme (TID), with the country's most promising young footballers set to undergo a final assessment for admission into the Association's Elite Academy Schools.

The exercise, led by the GFA's Technical Directorate, will bring together the standout players identified during the first and second phases of the nationwide scouting programme. Successful participants will earn places at the Elite Academy Schools based at Bolgatanga Senior High School, Prempeh College in Kumasi and Achimota School in Accra.

The final selection exercise will begin in Accra, where players from the Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta Regions will be assessed before moving to the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regions, the Northern Region, and concluding in the Western and Central Regions.

The selected players will be evaluated in a competitive environment by the GFA's team of trained and accredited lead and support scouts, who will determine those best suited for the academy programme.

The Talent Identification Programme remains one of the GFA's flagship youth development initiatives, creating a structured pathway for talented boys and girls from across Ghana to develop their football careers.

The Association says the programme is designed to ensure that gifted players, regardless of where they come from, have an equal opportunity to be identified and nurtured.

Beyond football development, the Elite Academy Schools combine high-performance training with formal education, allowing students to pursue their academic studies while receiving professional coaching and preparing for future opportunities in the sport.

This year's intake marks the fourth consecutive year the GFA has admitted outstanding young footballers into its Elite Academy Schools, underlining its commitment to strengthening grassroots football and developing the next generation of talent for Ghanaian clubs and the national teams.
