Ghana international midfielder Iddrisu Baba has officially completed his move to Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Spanish club UD Almeria.
The 30-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a three-year contract with the Serbian powerhouse, bringing an end to his three-year spell with Almeria and marking a new chapter in his European career.
Baba joined AlmerÃa in 2023 after establishing himself as a dependable midfielder during his lengthy spell with RCD Mallorca.
He played an important role in Mallorca’s promotion to La Liga and subsequently became a regular presence in the Spanish top flight.
The Ghanaian midfielder leaves Spain with significant experience at the highest level, having made more than 150 La Liga appearances for Mallorca and AlmerÃa combined.
His combative style, ability to win possession and tactical discipline have made him a valuable presence in midfield throughout his career.
Partizan have moved to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season and see Baba’s experience in Spanish football as an important addition to their midfield options.
His arrival also provides the experienced Ghanaian with an opportunity to compete for domestic honours while potentially featuring in European competition with one of Serbia’s most decorated clubs.
Baba will now begin a new chapter in Serbian football, becoming the latest Ghanaian player to feature in the Serbian top flight.
The move brings his three-year stay in Spain to an end and gives the midfielder a fresh platform to continue his career in Europe.
