Penalty drama returned in 2024 when Vision FC faced Okwawu United at Nana Kronamansah Park in Nsoatre. After a goalless draw, Vision FC won 7-6 on penalties.
The 2026 final at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium followed the same pattern. Ebusua Dwarfs and Semper Fi drew 1-1 after 90 minutes before the Cape Coast side won 5-4 on penalties to claim their first X1 DOL Super Cup title.
