KRC Genk Head of Football Dimitri de Conde has praised Ghana forward Jerry Afriyie's work ethic after the 20-year-old joined the Belgian club on a five-year deal from Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah.
Afriyie, who turns 20 on August 24, returns to Belgium for a second spell after impressing on loan at RAAL La Louviere during the 2025/26 season. He scored five goals and provided two assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.
"Jerry is a player with an incredible amount of energy. Whatever he does, he gives 100%. That fits perfectly with the intensity we want to see at KRC Genk," De Conde said.
"He is also still very young, and we will provide him with the right environment to continue his development. We firmly believe he will be an excellent addition to the current squad, both now and for the future."
Afriyie has been capped by Ghana at the U-20 level and earned a call-up to the Black Stars. His move to Genk represents a significant step in his career, with the Belgian club known for developing young talent.
The forward will now integrate into his new team as Genk prepare for the upcoming season. The club will be hoping Afriyie can continue his development and make an immediate impact in the Belgian top flight.
