Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has announced significant financial support for Ghana Premier League clubs, including a record GH¢3 million prize for the winner of the 2026/27 season.
Speaking at the 32nd Ordinary Session of Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, Okraku said each of the 18 Premier League clubs received GH¢1 million ahead of the 2025/26 season through the GFA’s partnership with Adesa Productions.
He said the initiative was designed to strengthen the financial stability of clubs and create conditions for sustainable growth and competitiveness.
Okraku also revealed that GH¢9.5 million will be distributed as prize money for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season. The champions will receive GH¢2 million, while the runners-up will take GH¢1 million. Third and fourth place clubs will receive GH¢800,000 and GH¢750,000 respectively.
For the 2026/27 season, clubs will again receive GH¢1 million each, while the league champions will earn a record GH¢3 million.
Okraku also praised Adesa Limited’s contribution to improving the production quality, reach and visibility of Ghanaian football through its broadcasting partnership.
