Ghanaian midfielder Kwasi Sibo is on the verge of completing a lucrative move to Libyan side Al-Swehly after receiving a huge two-year contract offer.
The 28- year-old has attracted interest from a number of clubs in Europe, but GhanaSoccernet understands none of those proposals comes close financially to what has been put on the table by the Libyan outfit.
Al-Swehly are understood to be offering Sibo a package worth around $10 million over two years, a staggering deal which has turned the midfielder’s head as he considers the next step in his career.
The financial package would instantly make Sibo one of the highest-earning Ghanaian footballers if the move is completed.
Sources close to the player indicate that his family are also encouraging him to seriously consider accepting the offer because of the life-changing sums involved.
Sibo has already flown to Egypt, where Al-Swehly are currently holding their pre-season training camp, as discussions over the proposed move enter a decisive stage.
The midfielder is expected to meet officials of the club and get a closer look at the team’s project before making a final decision.
Sibo still has options in Europe and has received approaches from clubs keen to secure his services, but matching the financial terms being offered by Al-Swehly has proven difficult.
That has put the Libyan club firmly in pole position for his signature, with confidence growing that an agreement can be reached.
Sibo’s stock has risen significantly following his impressive performances in Spain, establishing himself as a powerful and dependable presence in midfield. He was also key for Ghana at the World Cup and excelled against England.
