Ghana will be without left-back Baba Rahman for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Cote d’Ivoire and The Gambia after the defender was forced to withdraw through injury.
Rahman arrived in camp carrying the injury and was assessed by the Black Stars medical team before it was confirmed that he would be unable to participate in the upcoming fixtures.
His withdrawal adds to the growing list of players unavailable to head coach Carlos Queiroz ahead of Ghana's opening qualifier against Cote d’Ivoire in Bouake on Thursday, September 24.
The Black Stars have already lost several key players, including Mohammed Kudus and Antoine Semenyo, while Thomas Partey was not included in the original squad.
Queiroz has subsequently made nine additions to the squad to strengthen his options ahead of the qualifiers and Ghana's international friendly against Morocco on October 4.
Rahman's absence leaves Queiroz with another selection concern as Ghana prepare for a difficult away fixture against Cote d’Ivoire.
The Black Stars will return home after Thursday's game to host The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 27.
Ghana are aiming to make a strong start to the 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign after missing the previous edition of the tournament in Morocco.
