Aduana FC produced a dramatic late turnaround to secure a hard-fought victory over Karela United at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park on Sunday afternoon, easing pressure on their Ghana Premier League title ambitions.
The visitors drew first blood against the run of play in the 27th minute when Salim Uzair Baafada unfortunately turned the ball into his own net, handing Karela an early advantage and briefly silencing the home crowd in Dormaa.
Aduana responded swiftly and with purpose, piling pressure on the Karela defence in search of an equaliser.
Their persistence paid off four minutes later when captain Alex Boakye calmly converted from the penalty spot in the 31st minute after a foul inside the area, restoring parity and lifting the hosts.
The remainder of the contest was evenly balanced, with both sides creating half-chances but struggling to find a decisive breakthrough.
Karela remained compact and disciplined at the back, while Aduana pushed forward in waves, urged on by their supporters as the clock ticked down.
Just when the match appeared destined for a share of the spoils, substitute Charles Gyamfi Kamara emerged as the hero for the Ogya Boys.
Introduced late by coach Cioaba Aristica, Kamara struck in stoppage-time to complete a remarkable comeback, sending the home fans into raptures.
