A group of traditional Queen Mothers has formally petitioned the Russian Embassy in Ghana, protesting what they describe as serious privacy violations allegedly committed by a Russian citizen.
In the petition addressed to the Embassy, the Queen Mothers accused Vladislav Aleksandrovich Liulkov, also known as Vyacheslav Trahov, of unlawfully publishing images of numerous Ghanaian women without their consent during his stay in the country in 2025.
The petitioners, led by Dr. Phyllis Henrichs of Sankofa herbs and Roots argued that the alleged actions constitute a grave breach of the victims’ rights to privacy and dignity, particularly given what they described as the vulnerability of those affected.
She said the circulation of the images has resulted in emotional distress, reputational damage, and potential long-term psychological and social consequences for the individuals and their families.
Describing the conduct as “reprehensible,” Dr. Henrichs further contended that the incident undermines the spirit of goodwill and mutual respect expected in relations between Ghana and the Russian Federation.
She is demanding a thorough investigation by Russian authorities, public acknowledgment of wrongdoing, appropriate legal or disciplinary measures, and financial compensation for the alleged victims. She also called for assurances that preventive steps would be taken to avoid similar incidents in the future.
“The protection of vulnerable persons, especially minors and young girls, is a matter of utmost importance,” she stated, urging the Embassy to treat the matter with urgency and communicate the steps being taken.
