The Government has paid GH¢10.82 billion to bondholders under the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP), bringing the total amount paid to investors since 2025 to GH¢41.36 billion.
According to the Government, the GH¢10,816,840,318.26 payment was made in full and in cash, and on schedule.
The payment, announced on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, represents the third DDEP coupon payment to be settled entirely in cash.
The Government said the timely payment reflected its commitment to meeting its debt obligations and maintaining fiscal discipline.
It further argued that the payment would help strengthen investor confidence, reduce the risk of sovereign default and reinforce Ghana’s credibility in the financial markets.
The latest payment comes as the Government continues to implement the DDEP, a major component of its debt restructuring programme aimed at restoring debt sustainability and easing pressure on public finances.
The Government assured bondholders, investors and the general public that future obligations under the DDEP would similarly be paid in full and on schedule.
The GH¢41.36 billion total represents payments made to bondholders since 2025, according to the Government.
The statement did not provide a breakdown of the GH¢41.36 billion by payment date, bond category or individual coupon payments.
