The Acting National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay has stated that the party will not reinstate Mr Paul Afoko.
According to him, it is totally unacceptable to reinstate Mr Afoko who did not contribute to the party’s victory in the 2016 general elections.
He indicated that there has not been any discussion to reinstate Mr Afoko who was suspended as the party’s National Chairman in 2015.
Mr Afoko was suspended by the Disciplinary Committee of the party for making public utterances which the party described as ‘misconduct’.
“The one who I replaced was suspended and will remain suspended so far as I am concerned, I am okay acting as a National Chairman,” he said.
Asked if the other suspended executives such as General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong and the National Vice Chairman, Sammy Crabbe will be reinstated, he said it is pointless calling them back.
“If you needed people to undertake the biggest battle of an election and you thought that those that were in charge will not contribute to winning so you put them aside and you put other people in charge and they go to the battle and they are victorious. I do not see the wisdom that we should go back for people we thought will not help,’ he told Accra-based Citi FM on Thursday.
