Some members of the New Patriotic Part (NPP) are appealing to the leadership of the party to as a matter of urgency reinstate suspended General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong.
According to the group, the suspension of Mr Agyapong was carefully orchestrated to tear him apart.
They wondered if Mr Agyapong was removed from the party or suspended arguing that no effort has been made by the leadership of the party to reinstate him.
“….was a carefully orchestrated ground machinery that propagated spurious allegations and very slanderous falsehood without providing a shred of evidence… all calculated to tarnish the image of our elected General Secretary and facilitate casting aside the popular choice of the delegates,” the convener of the group, Jihan Efua Nuhu told journalists.
It pleaded with the National Council of the party to lift Mr Agyapong’s suspension.
Mr. Agyapong was suspended by the party along with 2nd Vice Chairman Sammy Crabbe in 2015, for misconduct when there was a decision to indefinitely suspend its National Chairman Paul Afoko.
His suits were thrown out of court.
