The former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of COCOBOD Dr Stephen Opuni has been slapped with 27 charges by the Accra High Court.
The state filed a case of causing financial loss against Mr Opuni.
Some of the charges include: abetment of crime and defrauding by false pretence, willfully causing financial loss to the state, contravention of the Public Procurement Act, manufacturing fertilizer without registration, money laundering and corruption by public officer.
The former CEO of COCOBOD who is alleged to have mismanaged the cocoa sector during his term was sacked on January 12, 2017 following the assumption of office of Akufo-Addo’s government.
