Ghana’s forward, Jordan Ayew, has characterized the 4-0 defeat to the United States of America as a stark wake-up call.
The Black Stars suffered a significant loss to the United States in an international friendly match held at Geodis Park in Nashville on Wednesday, October 18, following a prior 0-2 loss to Mexico.
During the post-game press conference, with Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton in attendance, the Crystal Palace attacker delivered a candid assessment of the match.
He stated, “I believe we simply require more time because this is a new group with many new players, most of whom lack experience. It’s a challenging situation since we are aware that time is not on our side, and matches like this serve as a reality check, helping us gauge our current level.”
Ayew continued, “We are exerting tremendous effort and striving to improve our team’s performance, and with time, we anticipate progress.”
