Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani has explained his decision to start goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi ahead of Benjamin Asare against Bechem United.
Asare, who had impressed following his return from injury, was left on the bench, with Agbasi producing an assured performance. He made several important saves to help Hearts of Oak keep a clean sheet.
Speaking after the match, Dramani said the decision was influenced by the need to manage player workload while ensuring everyone remains competitive.
“The reason is just to deload and also to give Solomon game minutes,” the Hearts coach explained.
He added that rotating the goalkeepers is key to building a healthy culture within the squad.
“If we were in the FA Cup, Solomon would have featured in those games. But after three or four matches, Benjamin needs to be deloaded. This helps build a very strong culture within our goalkeeping department,” Dramani said.
