Head coach of Dreams FC Wilfred Dormon has expressed satisfaction following his outfit stalemate against Samartex 1996 in the Ghana Premier League.
The highly competitive matchday 25 encounter held at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samreboi on Saturday afternoon ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net.
Despite a series of late attempts by the Timber Giants, the visitors managed to hold on and secure a valuable point on the road.
Speaking after the match, Dormon acknowledged Samartex performance in the first half of the match, while expressing satisfaction with the sides’ performance in the hard-fought draw.
“It was a difficult game. We knew beforehand that Samartex are very strong at home, so we had to strategize well. Truth be told, Samartex were the better team in the first half. They created some chances but could utilize them. We defended well to ensure we went into the break with the score still goalless.
“After the break, we made a few corrections to the team and improved our performance. It was a game of two halves â Samartex won the first half and we won the second half â so I am satisfied with the performance and the result.”
The result means Samartex extend their winless streak but maintain their impressive unbeaten home record in the league this season at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.
For Dreams, the draw continues their encouraging run of form and provides a crucial point as they battle to move further away from the relegation zone in the closing stages of the campaign.
