Ibrahim Mahama's mining firm, Engineers & Planners, has committed $5 million as the headline sponsor of Ghana's fundraising campaign ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
The substantial investment is expected to provide a significant boost to the Black Stars' preparations as the team gears up for the tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.
The fundraising campaign aims to secure the necessary resources to ensure the team's logistics, training, and overall preparation meet the demands of competing at the highest level.
Engineers & Planners' involvement marks a major corporate contribution to Ghanaian football, with the Mahama family continuing to play a significant role in sports development in the country.
The sponsorship is expected to ease financial pressures on the Ghana Football Association as it finalises plans for the World Cup campaign.
Further details of the fundraising campaign and other sponsors are expected to be announced in the coming days.
