Ghanaian international Prince Osei-Owusu delivered a masterclass performance to power CF Montreal to a resounding 4-1 victory over New York Red Bulls in the Major League Soccer on Saturday.
The 29-year-old forward was directly involved in all four goals on the night, scoring once and providing three assists in a dominant display that overwhelmed the Red Bulls, who featured fellow Ghanaians Sofo Mohammed and Ronald Donkor.
Owusu’s performance not only secured Montreal’s first win under interim head coach Philippe Eullaffroy, but also marked a historic milestone as the club recorded its 100th all-time victory at Stade Saputo.
Owusu set the tone early, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to assist the opener before calmly converting a penalty in the 39th minute with a clever stutter-step finish.
His vision and creativity were on full display in the second half, threading a precise pass for another goal and later producing a delicate chip to set up the fourth, capping off a flawless attacking performance.
Now boasting five goals and four assists in just eight MLS appearances in the 2026 campaign, Owusu is rapidly establishing himself as one of the league’s most decisive attacking players.
Beyond the numbers, his leadership as captain and ability to dictate play in the final third have become central to Montreal’s resurgence, signaling a player in peak form and full control of his craft.
