Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has confirmed his season is over following successful surgery but has promised to cheer his teammates on as they battle through the final games of the campaign.
The 25-year-old, who is of Ghanaian descent, took to social media to share his message. "Season over for me but not for the boys; let's give everything in these final games. I'll be supporting the whole way throughout, COYR!!" he wrote.
Hudson-Odoi sustained the injury during Forest’s 1-0 Europa League win over FC Porto last week, being forced off in the 73rd minute. The club confirmed he will miss the remaining five matches of the season, with a targeted return to full training during pre-season.
The timing is a significant blow not only to Forest but also to the player’s international ambitions. Reports had suggested Hudson-Odoi was in contention for a potential nationality switch to Ghana ahead of the 2026 World Cup. With his recovery expected to extend into the summer, that dream now appears all but over.
For now, the former Chelsea winger will focus on rehabilitation while supporting his teammates from the stands. His message of unity and determination has been well received by Forest fans, who will hope to see him back stronger next season.
