Kennedy Kwesi Kankam, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) member of the Seventh Parliament of Ghana, has commended delegates from the Ashanti Region for making the right choices at last Saturday’s Regional Executives election.
He noted that the crop of leadership in the region gives the NPP a 60% plus leverage to victory in the 2028 elections.
Talking on ‘Dwabrem’, an OTEC FM afternoon political talk show, hosted by Dr. Cash, the former Nhyiaeso MP urged Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, the new Regional chairman, and his team to ensure transparency, accountability, equity and good governance in the running of the party, noting that the NPP’s victory in 2028 is non-negotiable.
According to him, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer, is a strong contender who needs strong lieutenants to man and protect the party at all levels, and to make it strong to face the 2028 elections.
The former Asokre Mampong MCE further applauded Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA) for hitting the ground running by providing a Regional Secretariat for the party as an interim measure.
He commended this singular effort by COKA to secure the party in this direction, noting that the Regional Party office is in fulfilment of a constitutional requirement.
Mr Kankam also lauded the intention of COKA to construct a permanent Regional party office as soon as possible.
He pledged to personally contribute in kind towards the construction of the new party office and called on all party supporters and sympathisers to readily support the proposed project when the time comes.
Former Regional Organiser Kankam suggested crowdfunding towards the project.
Meanwhile, George Opoku Amponsah, a Communication Team member, has called for support for the administration of Odeneho Kwaku Appiah as Chairman of Ashanti NPP for starting so well.
He noted that COKA has walked the Unity talk by extending an olive branch to Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu, who contested him a day after the election.
George Amponsah called on all true Patriots to ensure a resounding victory for Dr. Bawumia in the 2028 elections.
