The Yamoransa Model (YM) Labs Program has announced the fifth edition of its Annual Impact Roundtable Discussions (AIRTAD) and Robotics Competition, scheduled for February 24–27, 2026, in Accra.
The main events will take place on February 26 and 27 at the Cedi Conference Centre, University of Ghana, Legon, under the theme “Shaping Tomorrow’s Workforce Through Education and Innovation.”
Funded by the Helping Africa Foundation (HAF) and managed by IMPLEMENTERS, AIRTAD marks its fifth anniversary in 2026, highlighting the impact of the Yamoransa Model Labs Program and ongoing conversations around STEAM education and workforce readiness in Africa.
Since its inception, AIRTAD has evolved into an education-focused convening platform, bringing together students, educators, policymakers, development partners and private sector actors to showcase student-led innovation, assess education outcomes and explore pathways for skills development.
The event also celebrates the Yamoransa Model Labs Program, launched in 2016, which provides access to ICT, STEAM and digital skills education in underserved communities across Ghana, Liberia and The Gambia. The initiative targets primary, junior and secondary school students through hands-on learning, robotics and innovation-based education.
Activities lined up for the 2026 edition include robotics competitions, roundtable discussions, exhibitions, debates, career pathway conversations, mentorship sessions and an awards ceremony recognising student innovation in West Africa.
The programme will be held in two phases, with preliminary robotics quiz competitions and exhibitions scheduled for February 24–25 at Academic City University. The main AIRTAD convening will follow on February 26–27 at the University of Ghana.
Organisers say the fifth edition aims to expand the reach of AIRTAD and deepen stakeholder engagement in education reform and innovation. Further information is available at www.yamoransamodel.org and www.theimplementers.org.
