The National Juvenile Committee has concluded its 2025 activities with a review meeting that assessed the state of youth football and outlined priorities for the year ahead, signaling renewed focus on grassroots development across the country.The meeting, chaired by newly appointed Chairman JoeSalam Abubakar, served as his first major engagement since assuming office. He used the platform to welcome new committee members Daniel Larbie Akowuah and Joseph Epton, stressing the need for collaboration and shared accountability in shaping the future of juvenile football.Abubakar noted that the work of the committee remains critical to sustaining the national game and producing the next generation of elite players.Attention was also directed at off-season juvenile competitions, with Regional Football Associations Coordinator Daasebre Adu Asare presenting a detailed assessment of key tournaments.His review covered the Elite U15 Boys and Girls competitions and the KGL U17 Inter-Regional Colts Championship, outlining participation levels, technical progress and operational challenges encountered during the year.The committee further reviewed the Black Starlets qualification for the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Members expressed confidence in the teams potential while emphasizing the importance of early preparation, structured planning and sustained technical support to ensure a competitive showing at the continental finals.Deliberations also touched on the CAF Schools Football Championship, with logistical and developmental hurdles identified as key concerns. The committee agreed on the need for practical reforms to enhance future editions.
