Kingsley Braye took center stage as Medeama booked their place in the MTN FA Cup Round of 32 with a 3-1 win over Bibiani Gold Stars, delivering a memorable hat-trick at home.
The Medeama forward set the tone early, showing sharp movement and calm finishing to give Ibrahim Tanko’s side the lead in the 27th minute. His opener rewarded a bright start from the Ghana Premier League leaders, who controlled possession and pressed with intent.
Braye struck again just before halftime, doubling Medeama’s advantage and placing the hosts firmly in charge heading into the interval. Gold Stars attempted a response after the break and briefly lifted belief when Gideon Anaba pulled one back in the 52nd minute.
Medeama, however, stayed organised and patient, slowing the game and reducing space as they searched for the goal that would end the contest. That decisive moment arrived late on, when Braye completed his hat-trick in the 85th minute to cap a dominant display.
"I’m very happy with my hat-trick. To be a top striker you always have to score goals. If you score goals then people will know you are a top striker," he said after the game.
"It’s your responsibility to score to help the team and that’s what I did," he added.
