Young Ghanaian midfielder Hayford Adu-Boahen has taken a significant step in his professional career, completing a permanent transfer from Central Regional side Cheetah FC to Israeli Premier League club FC Ashdod.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a five-year contract with Ashdod after impressing the club's technical staff during a trial period.
Adu-Boahen is expected to use the Israeli top flight as a vital platform to develop his game further, with the ultimate ambition of securing a future move into mainstream European football.
At the international level, Adu-Boahen has already gained valuable experience. He was part of coach Desmond Ofei's Ghana U20 squad that competed at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt last year, featuring in a tournament where Ghana exited before the semi-final stage.
Domestically, the highly rated midfielder demonstrated his leadership qualities, captaining Cheetah FC for two seasons in the Central Regional Division Two League.
He is known for his technical ability to control the tempo of games, combining pace, close control, vision, and strong ball retention under pressure.
The move represents a major opportunity for Adu-Boahen to test himself in a professional league abroad and continue his rapid development as one of Ghana's promising midfield talents.
