His Majesty King Mohammed VI has sent a royal message of congratulations to Morocco’s national football team following their historic run as finalists of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which the Kingdom hosted.
In the message, the Sovereign expressed his warmest congratulations to the players, the entire technical, medical, and administrative staff, and the officials of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation for their honourable achievement.
The King highlighted the team's journey as a demonstration of core values. “Through this distinguished journey, you have demonstrated that perseverance, discipline and team spirit are the path to success and achievement,” he stated. “You have also presented to the world an example of what Moroccan and African youth can accomplish when they trust in their talents and abilities.”
His Majesty directly connected the team's on-field success to the nation’s broader strategic vision. “You have likewise proven, through the determination and heroic and honourable performance you displayed, the relevance of our strategic vision to invest in human capital and modernise the Kingdom’s infrastructure, which has demonstrated its resilience and world-class level of preparedness in anticipation of hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup.”
The message framed Morocco’s hosting of the tournament as a continental milestone. “As much as we consider our country’s hosting of this prestigious championshipâmarked by high-quality organisation and warm hospitality rooted in the nobility and centuries-old values of the Moroccan nationâto be a remarkable sporting achievement, we also view it as a message of hope and confidence from Morocco toward its continent, reaffirming that African talent is capable of excellence and innovation in all fields.”
King Mohammed VI also commended the passionate support of Moroccan fans throughout the tournament and called upon the national team to continue striving for further accomplishments on the international stage, assuring them of his high regard and support.
