Dreams FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Young Apostles at the Tuba Astroturf in Accra on Sunday, as the visitors battled hard to earn a point against one of the league’s in-form sides.
The match came against the backdrop of minor technical disruption for Dreams following the departure of assistant coach Fiifi Parker Wilson, but the home side still dominated large spells of the contest.
The first half ended goalless, with both teams cautious in their approach and largely cancelling each other out. The game opened up after the break, with Dreams finally making their pressure count in the 65th minute when Kumah Kofi broke the deadlock. However, the lead lasted only five minutes, as Richmond Coka responded for Young Apostles to restore parity.
Dreams controlled possession with 54 percent of the ball and were more adventurous going forward, registering 17 shots, eight of which were on target. Young Apostles, despite seeing less of the ball, remained organised and clinical when opportunities arose, recording 10 attempts with six on target, one of which produced the equaliser.
The result extends Dreams’ unbeaten run to four matches as they continue their steady rise. For Young Apostles, the draw stretches their winless run to five games, leaving them still anchored in the relegation zone despite a disciplined and resilient display.
