Middlesbrough are on the verge of completing a permanent deal for Ghanaian forward Hinneh Lord Listowell, with the transfer awaiting final visa approval.
The 18-year-old attacker will join the club from Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, where he broke into the first team this season and made appearances in both the Ghana Premier League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
Upon his arrival, he is set to begin his development in England with Middlesbrough's Under-21 side.
The move is the culmination of a long-term pursuit by the Championship club. Listowell previously spent two trial spells at Boro's Rockliffe training ground last season, impressing coaches with his pace and direct style.
Key recruitment staff, including head of recruitment Chris Jones, later travelled to Ghana to watch him play before green-lighting the permanent move.
Listowell's growing reputation is highlighted by a previous trial with Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers. He is a product of the Samba Stars Academy, which is part-owned by former West Ham striker Michail Antonio.
Described as a player with exceptional ball control, vision, and relentless work rate, his transition to English football will be carefully managed as he aims to make an impact on Teesside.
