Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has rallied his players to target a win against Asante Kotoko in their next match in the Ghana Premier League.
The experienced tactician and his side are currently struggling to compete in the 2025/26 edition of the league campaign.
Over the weekend, Heart of Lions suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bechem United in their Week 20 fixture of the season.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Bashir Hayford accepted the result and described the game as a tough one while insisting that his team will return home and prepare for a win against Kotoko in the next game.
“It was a very tough game because both teams fought from their heart. We fought and fought and fought, but..We will take it like that because that is football.
“The two teams exhibited good football. Bechem United played at home and collected the three points. We will also go home and prepare for the next match,” he said.
The Week 21 encounter between Heart of Lions and Asante Kotoko will be played on Saturday, January 31. The encounter is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm at the Kpando Sports Stadium.
