Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku has cautioned his teammates against paying too much attention to Arsenal's recent drop in form, urging them to focus solely on their own performances in the Premier League title race.
Arsenal's 3-2 defeat to Manchester United over the weekend extended their winless run to three games, narrowing the gap between the Gunners and second-placed Manchester City to just four points at the top of the table.
Speaking ahead of City's UEFA Champions League clash against Galatasaray, Doku admitted the result was favourable but stressed the importance of internal focus. "I know there’s a lot of games in this competition... We just need to focus on ourselves, need to do our job," Doku told journalists. "We still play them (Arsenal) as well. So a lot of things will happen."
The Belgian international revealed he did not watch Arsenal's defeat to Manchester Unitedâa team that recently beat City. "I wasn’t really focused on that, but if they lose, it’s better for us, for sure," Doku added, maintaining a pragmatic view of the title race dynamics.
With the Premier League reaching its decisive phase, Doku's comments reflect a disciplined mindset within the City camp.
The winger expressed confidence in his team's ability to chase down the leaders, highlighting that maintaining their own high standards will be more crucial than monitoring their rivals' stumbles in the final months of the season.
