Nania continued their recent fine run in Access Bank Division One League Zone Three by deepening Semper Fi FC’s struggles with a 1-0 victory at the Nania Park on Saturday.
Peter Fiifi Hammond’s 30th-minute goal proved decisive, extending Semper Fi’s winless run to seven league matches, made up of four draws and three defeats.
The result secured back-to-back league wins for FC Nania for the first time this season and saw Semper Fi drop to third on the table with 30 points.
At the summit, Port City FC strengthened their grip on top spot with a commanding 4-0 away win over Golden Warriors in Kukurantumi. Eric Tibu broke the deadlock just before half-time, setting the tone for a dominant second-half display.
Korblah Junior doubled the advantage in the 63rd minute before Benjamin Ghartey added a third four minutes later. Korblah then completed his brace late in the game to seal an emphatic victory, opening a seven-point gap at the top.
Elsewhere, former Premier League side Great Olympics climbed out of the relegation zone after edging Na God FC 3-2 in a thrilling contest at the McDan Sports Complex.
After falling behind early, Dapaah Christian Agyei’s brace put Olympics in control before Mohammed Nikoi levelled. Fredrick Akatuk’s stoppage-time winner secured a vital three points.
