The MTN FA Cup Round of 16 is set to deliver an action-packed weekend as 16 teams battle for places in the quarter-finals.
Defending champions Asante Kotoko face a tough test against Aduana FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in one of the standout fixtures. The two sides recently played out a 1â1 draw in the league, underlining how closely matched they are. Kotoko will rely on their experience in knockout football, but Aduana, currently third in the league, will be confident of causing an upset.
The Porcupine Warriors come into the tie on the back of an inconsistent run, with just two wins in their last six matches. While they recorded an emphatic 6-1 victory over Bechem United, they have also suffered defeat to Swedru All Blacks and dropped points against Berekum Chelsea, Bibiani Gold Stars and Heart of Lions. In the FA Cup, however, Kotoko have been convincing against Future Stars and King Faisal.
Elsewhere, Dreams FC take on Inter Allies, with the latter optimistic about their chances. Berekum Chelsea face in-form Tamale City, who are unbeaten in 18 Division One matches. Nations FC meet Swedru All Blacks, while two-time winners Medeama SC host FC Samartex 1996.
The round begins on Friday as Eleven Wonders face Attram De Visser in Tema New Town.
