President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has arrived in Wa, the Upper West Regional capital, to commence a four-day working tour of the three football regions in Northern Ghana, aimed at deepening stakeholder engagement and accelerating football development. The GFA President touched down at the Wa Airport on Monday morning and was warmly received by the Upper West Regional Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Daudi Sadugu Yahaya and his executive team. During his stay, President Simeon-Okraku will hold high-level strategic meetings with the leadership of the Upper West RFA, as well as club owners and administrators across the various football divisions in the region. These engagements are expected to provide a platform to assess prevailing challenges, exchange ideas, and identify sustainable pathways for football growth in the region. As part of his official itinerary, the GFA President will also pay a courtesy call on the Upper West Regional Minister, Hon. Charles Lwanga Puozuing, Esq., to discuss areas of mutual interest, particularly collaboration between government and football authorities in advancing the game at the regional level. The visit will further include inspection tours of ongoing GFA infrastructure projects in the region, with stops at the Malik Jabir Stadium and the newly constructed B.K. Adama Park. These inspections are aimed at evaluating progress and ensuring alignment with the GFA’s long-term development vision. In recognition of the role of traditional leadership in community and youth development, President Simeon-Okraku will conclude his Wa engagements with a courtesy visit to the Wa-Naa and Overlord of the Waala Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty Alhaji Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo VI, to pay homage and reaffirm the GFA’s respect for customary institutions. Following the Upper West leg, the GFA President and his delegation will stop over in Tumu before proceeding to Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region for similar stakeholder consultations with football administrators and club officials. The Northern tour will conclude in Tamale, where President Simeon-Okraku will engage the Northern Regional Football Association and key stakeholders, reinforcing the GFA’s commitment to inclusive governance, grassroots development, and the holistic advancement of football across Ghana.
