Danish-Ghanaian midfielder Noah Nartey marked his Lyon debut in style, smashing home the winner in a tight 1â0 victory over Lille at Groupama Stadium.
Drifting in from his central berth, Nartey timed his run perfectly on 37 minutes, sweeping in Ruben Kluivert’s low cross to cap Lyon’s best move of the match and settle a cagey contest short on clear chances.
Lyon created the game’s only “big chance” and made it count, while a disciplined back line limited Lille to hopeful efforts despite the visitors enjoying more of the ball.
Nartey’s energy and composure in possession underpinned Lyon’s midfield, earning him one of the highest ratings on the pitch as Bruno Genesio’s side extended their impressive winning run.
The strike was Nartey’s first goal in what is now 1 appearance, 1 goal and 0 assists for Lyon in the 2025/26 Ligue 1 campaign.
Lyon now turn their attention to the Coupe de France, hosting Laval on February 4, before resuming league duties later in the week.
