In his first official interview since joining Shrewsbury Town, new Ghanaian signing Kevin Berkoe has detailed the key role a former club striker played in his decision to move to the League Two side on transfer deadline day.
The defender, who completed a move from Salford City for an undisclosed fee, revealed that he sought advice from Dan Udoh. The popular former Salop forward, who is now a teammate at Salford, provided a glowing endorsement of the club and its community, which proved pivotal for Berkoe.
Berkoe also discussed his previous working relationship with Shrewsbury head coach Gavin Cowan, which gave him confidence in the move. The 24-year-old, a product of Chelsea's academy, outlined his ambition to make an immediate impact, help solidify the defence, and contribute to the team's push to secure their League Two status in the final months of the 2025/26 season.
The full interview, where Berkoe shares more on his playing style and excitement for the challenge ahead, is available to watch below.
