Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams has assured that the budget for the Black Stars’ participation in the 2026 World Cup will be publicly disclosed.
Ghana is set to make its fifth appearance at the global tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico this summer.
Adams, who previously revealed the costs of each qualifier match despite criticism from some football stakeholders, confirmed in an interview that transparency will extend to the World Cup preparations.
“We will make the World Cup budget public; nothing will be hidden,” the Buem constituency MP told Asempa FM.
“The government does not intend to profit; this is about giving Ghana what it deserves.”
The minister also highlighted that funds raised through the Sports Fund will determine the number of supporters flown to the tournament to cheer the team.
"The funds we will raise will determine the number of fans we take to the World Cup."
Ghana, drawn in Group L, will open its campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, face England in Boston, and conclude the group stage against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia.
