Newly appointed Hearts of Oak Managing Director Julius Ben Emunah has thrown his weight behind the club’s players, promising to stand with them as they pursue success on the pitch.
Emunah, unveiled this week as the Ghana Premier League side’s new MD, replaces Dr. Delali Anku-Adiamah, whose contract expired last month and was not renewed.
During a visit to the Kpobiman Training Centre on Thursday, Emunah addressed the squad, saying: "My words are very few. What I want to tell you is that I am one of you. I had a dream to be a footballer. I have played before, but unfortunately, I had to stop early.
"I have been priviledged and that is what I always say because my whole professional career has been in football, so I understand what it takes to do football, and I understand what it takes to be a good footballer, but as we know, this club and it history, if you serve this club wholeheartedly, heaven will favour you as well," he added.
Hearts of Oak are currently preparing for their Matchday 22 encounter against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium next Sunday.
Before his appointment at Hearts, Emunah spent eight years at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in multiple capacities. In 2020, he became the GFA’s Club Licensing Manager, having previously served as a Safety and Security Officer for both the GFA and CAF.
Emunah’s experience also spans administrative roles in regional football, including two years as Deputy Administrative Manager for the National Sports Authority in the Central Region, followed by a stint as General Secretary of the Western Regional Football Association.
Since 2020, he has contributed to various CAF competitions, including inter-club tournaments, AFCON qualifiers, the African Nations Championship (CHAN), and the African Games. A trained broadcast journalist, Emunah brings a wealth of experience across football management and operations to his new role.
