Hearts of Oak have reaffirmed that midfielder Hamza Issah remains under a valid contract with the club, dismissing reports suggesting his deal has been terminated.
In an official statement issued on 18 February 2026, the club said no competent judicial, regulatory, or arbitral body, including the Ghana Football Association Player Status Committee or FIFA, has ruled that the player’s contract has been lawfully ended.
Hearts of Oak also rejected claims that they had persistently defaulted on financial obligations in a manner that would justify unilateral termination under FIFA regulations. The club stated that it engaged the player and his representatives on two separate occasions in good faith to address concerns raised.
The Phobians further condemned what they described as the unauthorised disclosure of confidential correspondence, calling the act unprofessional and misleading.
The statement also accused South African side Siwele FC of engaging the player and arranging travel without the knowledge or consent of Hearts of Oak, despite the existence of an active contract, describing the move as inducement and unlawful interference.
Hearts confirmed that formal complaints have been lodged with FIFA and other relevant authorities as they pursue legal and regulatory remedies to protect their interests.
